WALLA WALLA, Washington, April 22, 2022 – Centered around Earth Day, T Diamond Bar, LLC has launched a company-wide initiative as a way of promoting better individual habits to help protect our environment. The organization has purchased and distributed reusable shopping bags to all employees, which will help to reduce the use of single-use plastics in grocery shopping. “We are always striving to find opportunities to come together as a team. Since Earth Day is a great way to bring people together for a common cause, we knew it was a chance to try and make a small difference,” said Business Management Coordinator, Chasity Davis, who spearheaded the project.
According to earthday.org, over 5 trillion plastic bags are produced annually worldwide, and it can take up to 1000 years for a plastic bag to fully disintegrate. In the U.S., over 100 billion bags per year are thrown away, which is the equivalent of dumping nearly 12 million barrels of crude oil! Davis said, “We are not fully green in our day-to-day operations, but we have a set of core values that we hold to, and accountability is one of them. We are determined to hold ourselves to a higher standard and be better every day. Just a 1% daily improvement means that in a year we’ll be 3800% better. If you multiply that by the entire company, we are definitely making an impact!”
