WALLA WALLA, Washington, January 6, 2023 – When you think of corporate holiday cards, you typically would order a bulk box of one card that has the same design and message inside. The T Diamond Bar marketing team went “outside the box” this past season for the annual Christmas cards that were given away to clients and prospective partners. If you received one, you may have noticed that they were not a typical corporate holiday theme. “Like most companies, we send out cards to acknowledge and thank those who have supported us throughout the year. As I passed a booth for MD Anderson at an event in the fall, I noticed they had cards with artwork designed by children who were cancer patients” said Chasity Davis, who organized and distributed the holiday marketing.
A cancer diagnosis can be life altering for anyone, but especially kids. For children and teens treated at MD Anderson, creating art during their cancer experience can be therapeutic and healing. Children’s Art Project provides an outlet for patients to share their artistic talent while offering an opportunity to support other programs. Davis said, “After learning more, I knew this was the direction we needed to go. The spirit of making a difference in the lives of others is one of the most powerful aspects of being a small business. The fact that there were many designs and allowed for a personalized, hand-written note made them that much more meaningful.” Net proceeds from the sale of art-inspired merchandise help to fund pediatric programs.
“When she presented the idea to me that we go this direction, I could not have agreed more. To make sure our clients get a personal note of how much we appreciate them and to be able to help give something back is a win-win situation.” said Chad Kirkegard, Director of Business Development. The team will continue to be on the lookout for more ways to make a difference in 2023 and hopes that by sharing our story it will inspire others to look for ways to give back as well.
